What is 2048?

2048 is the number puzzle that appeared in 2014: on a 4×4 grid you slide all the tiles at once and tiles with the same number add up. A new 2 or 4 appears after every move. The goal is to make the 2048 tile, but you can keep going to score more points.

How to play

• Use the arrow keys (or W A S D) or swipe on the grid.
• All the tiles slide in the chosen direction; two matching tiles that touch become one with their sum.
• Each merge is worth the points of the new tile.
• The game ends when the grid is full and no more merges are possible.

Tips

• Keep your highest tile in a corner and don't move it from there.
• Use mainly two directions (for example down and left) and the third only when you have to.
• Build a row ordered from the highest number to the lowest.
