What is Minesweeper?

Minesweeper is the logic puzzle that was on every 1990s computer: a grid hides some mines and every square you uncover tells you how many mines are around it. With a bit of reasoning you can work out where they are and clear all the other squares.

How to play

• Click or tap a square to uncover it: the first one is never a mine.
• The number shows how many mines are in the 8 squares around it.
• To place a flag, right-click, or turn on the flag button and tap the square.
• 9×9 grid with 10 mines; you win by uncovering all the safe squares. Your score goes up with the squares uncovered and with speed.

Tips

• Start from the corners of big empty areas: a 1 next to a single covered square means a sure mine.
• Mark the sure mines with a flag so you don't make mistakes.
